Parent/Grandparent Sponsorship

1  Program Overview:

Canadian citizens or permanent residents who want to sponsor their parents or grandparents can fill out the interest to sponsor form available at the beginning of the year for a limited time.

If an invitation is received the sponsor must submit the application package (send both the sponsor ship and the permanent residence applications together at the same time) within 60 days from the date of the invitation.

The sponsor must prove that they meet the minimum necessary income requirement (MNI = LICO + 30%) by providing their Notice of Assessment (NOA) from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) for each of the last three taxation years before the date of application. If they don’t have their last year's NOA, they must submit their three years' NOAs before that.
